Welcome to lace in the kitchen! I am so glad you are here! 

Matt and I are 2 small town kids growing up in the big city. After we got married in July 2010, we moved into the big ol city of Chicago. We lived in the northern suburbs of Chicago for 2 years. I began my career as a nurse there, we made lifelong friends, and we loved every minute of our newlywed life in suburbia. 

Matt graduated with his masters degree in May 2012, and began his Doctoral work in September 2012. That brought us to the smaller, yet bigger city of Grand Rapids, MI. 

and here we are:  

She: loves all things vintage and lace and spending all her free time in the kitchen. She bakes cupcakes, and cookies and decorates cakes. She is addicted to the internet. She loves nesting in her 2 bedroom duplex in the city and walking to the farmers market for ingredients to mix up and create in the kitchen. She's a pediatric nurse and loves every minute of it. Her heart is for friends and eating together around the table, hence the title and content of this blog.

He: loves to read and study and aspires to be a tweed jacket with elbow patches wearing professor, who smokes a pipe and sits at his desk all day. He also loves music and playing the guitar. He's a bit of a nerd, but his wife loves him that way. 

Together: we believe in Jesus Christ. We love church and getting involved in the community. We strive to live our lives loving one another as Christ loved the church, and loving others as well. 

 We enjoy antiquing and being outside. We enjoy eating and spending time with each other.
